 How far would you actually go before you decided your mini was past it???

depends how much it would cost you to fix it, or if you can fix it yourself or have to pay someone else to fix it!? and ultimately how much you love it and if you can get rid of it! y? whats up??

its a mini 30 that has never been loved and cared for so is in a sorry old state. On starting this as a project i cut the wings and a panels off. Then noticed it had gone around the heater vents which caused the scuttle to be in a poor condition. The rear quater was lose along the bottom edge where the wheel arch has rotted away so that is now off to. So then i noticed how much had gone in with the car and have decided to do proply. That now means its havin 2 outer sills, rear valance and front panel.
I will do all the prep my self. Then get some one to teach me to weld and get AJ mini s to paint it. Then i will be left to rebuild to a mini and not the pile of rust it is at the minute

sounds like a good project! i've done about half of what you say you need to do, its not easy but its do-able! and when its finished you will feel so proud! were abouts are you in the country??? its worth restoring a mini 30, most of the special edtns look really good when restored!!

Just get stuck in mate thats all you can do and when things go wrong panels dont fit` you get the bonnet catch stuck in your head etc keep going its easy to say sod it but they dont make em anymore:eek: and it would be one less mini. The two worst panels to change i think are the door hanger/inner wing section`s and the heel plate where the rear subframe bolts on:mad: But if you had seen what we have done to mini`s in the past and me dads clubby you wouldnt be worried http://www.miniaddicts.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=939

Behind the wing you have your heater bit at the top under the scuttle. Its the piece with the heater bib in going down to the bottom.
