I was just thinking should I clean my pistons before fitting my new head. the Haynes book says yes but if so how should I do it? and what should I use.:confused:

i'd say yeah too, not 100% what you should use, maybe some kind of de-greaser or white spirit or some kind? not done that to any of my stuff yet so not 100% sure.... :D

I think the tops need scraping I was going to try and find a small plastic scraper??? I should have made it clear I onlu mean the tops..:D

You shouldnt do any harm given them a clean just give it a good blow out after so you dont get any bits of carbon in the rings:)

well I gave them a light scrape today. Cleaned everthing up and everthing is ready for installation yipee:D
