Dean M & M Warrington seem only to have replacement engines without fitting charge at £350 for 1000cc. Confused now, where did you see it with fitting included. If Recon engine is only £200 more but fully gteed for 12 months, does this not seem better value. John

Hey don't worry, that's so much better than what is on their website at the moment, which is £350 plus vat without the fitting. Vat no problem, can claim it back.

Thanks

John

PS Still need one of these suspension puller if anyone knows where I can borrow one from.

Thanks for all the advice.

As those of you who know me at all will attest, I am the original hopeless stander around with hands in pockets when anything (and I mean anything) mechanical has to be done.

I call for the horologist when the clock needs winding, I call the electrician when the battery in my remote control needs replacing, I call the plumber when the tap needs turning off...... Do you get the picture.

The idea of me approaching a scrap yard with a view to finding an engine that is any better than 30's current one is faintly ridiculous even if they can be obtained for £50. 50p would be far too much.

I've reached 57 without ever attempting anything more difficult than taking the rubber bands off the bundle of mail that the postman brings. Even this can result in nasty injuries, if i'm not really careful.
