British Mini Fair 2007

Right guys lets get on top of this befor it gets on top of us...

we get to put 3 casr on the stand.
anyone interested in being on the stand post below nad we can get a poll goin to vote and see who shoud go on the stand.

there is a theme... HOLIDAY CAMPS and basically NO theme NO stand..

with them 3 cars we get 6 free visitors passes that get you in free befor 9.30 and the stand has to be set up by 9.30
if there are more that 6 people interested in gettin ther that early we can buy more tickets at £10 and we may split it between everyone so its fair.

Oh yes Bingley Hall Nr Stafford. It was bloody freezing at this show last year. Good job its inside! Crackin show lots to see. Might take the Support Vehicle down and give Rhiannon a taste of things to come! Mini's, Mini's, and more Mini's!!! Start em young! lol :)

Thats the idea of having a stand. you can dump your new stuff there, save having to go back to the car all the time! Was'nt that handy at MITP? I remember everyone saying that my Yellow Flag was brilliant leading you back to the stand (Won't have that problem at Bingley Hall as its not that big)
If you are going to go for it .What are you dressing up as? Red Coats Yellow coats? Think of Hi De Hi and Sue pollard as the cleaner!:D

I think we should have a club stand as its good for the club it does take some organising but its usually good fun & i think Martin will have his complete nut and bolt rebuild finished for then:)

holiday camp's....... i think of the 60's/70's, deck chairs, string vests, knotted hankieys for hats, rolled up trousers, donky rides, sticks of rock and rain. could make reference to the locality of miniaddicts..... how about prestatin holiday camp.

goin back tomorrow hopefully for the last time, just spent the last week (and my dads done some while i've been in leeds) put 2xtop & bottom ball joints and 2x front wheel bearings!! hopefully also changed all 4 front subframe mounts, the rear subframe, turned my fuel mix right down to barely running... fingers crossed 4th time lucky! :D

Grace's mini is to be one of the "British Mini Club" display cars on the 28th.

Should be good publicity for the club, with the banner across the front windscreen. (Not sure if BMC know that the sticker is on as the photos that I sent to get us on display were taken b4 we joined the club).

We need to be there by 8:30, to wash the car outside, disconnect the battery(This is already too technical for me Mark) and polish it up.

Any early birds with a good polishing arm are more than welcome. Grace's spirit will be willing, but her muscle power on a Sunday morning after her party celebrating the end of the week's production at The Gateway in Chester will probably be sadly lacking.

Club photos etc to put inside the car might be good. Any thoughts?

Got some new faces with us and have not driven their Minis far before so it will be an easy pace drive this year.So far had a 7 definite 'yes count us in' as long as I dont put my foot down lol lol lol as if ;)

Taid, you're not capable of speeding in a convoy (Silverstone,Mini45) lol anyway,enough said about that!
I wont be able to make it I'm afraid, as much as I want to be there I'd already made arrangements when I heard of the show :( I've been for the last 4 years or so and find it one of if not the best of the year) unfortunately I was hoping to get a pair of bumpers and a new grill from there but nobody I know that is going have the space, there's mate sfor you eh :p I hope you all have a good time and I'll try my best to make it to the next show, I'm looking at March 1st for my mini going on the road again :)

We are planning on meeting at Halfords, Chester at about 7.45 to leave for 8am, We were also thinking of stopping at the midway truckstop (were we stopped on the way to MITP last year) on the A41, were the road forks just south of Whitchurch (right on the map!), Thats straight across from were the A5 meets the A483 at chirk (left on the map) if the snowdonminis posse want to meet us there to make a bigger convoy???

If i was coming alone i would be up at 5am to get on the road but the newbies that are following me (7 cars in all) want to start 7am ...so peeps looks like we will see you at the show yeah and not for breakie :( the A5 road is the route chosen for the run down to Bingley for us then we are picking up the A518 ...yeah I'm a shepherd leading a flock of Mini newbies :)

I vote Iceman as the miniaddicts official weather man, he was bang on on the Wirral run:) I used the bbc weather pages and they were miles out.
Dry and bright should be a nice run.

Will check the car over at the weekend. going to fit new shoes on the rear, front and put the minifins on see if they make any change....

after miniaddicts being refused a stand for this weekend, i was offered a place on the miniforum stand but i chose to take z-cars up on their offer which is very lucky as miniforum have been let down last minute with no contact or prior warning from BMC:mad:

Garce's mini was reversed into today by a waggon, which has pushed in the nearsidefront wing around the headlight, busted the headlight and bezel, deep scratch in the paintwork and one one the front bumper. Grace of course in floods of tears, dad despatched to Chester to rescue car. (That's what I was racing round Chester for on a Friday afternoon Eric). Have ordered new bits to collect tomorrow morning and my guy at Woodvale is going to do his best to make it look as best he can for the show on Sunday.

Thanks for all the kind offers. First priority is just to get it ok to go to Stafford. Hopefully it won't look too bad, then when we get back, i'll get it done properly. It will need knocking out almost all the way round the light and respraying. Grace is fine, more annoyed than anything as you can imagine. wondered what had happened to the headlight! looked like the mini had had its eye poked out! i was only waving with the door open coz my window runners on the drivers side broke and i cant open the window! :D
hope you get it sorted, if you need any help getting it sorted let us all know, sure plenty of people will help! i've got some sealed beam units too if that helps (took them off at MITP to fit my new halogen ones!)

It's sorted enough to get to the show and look pretty good. My guy has done a temp job on it. Replaced the headlight, pinched the bezel from 30, filled in the gouge, hand painted and repolished. Changed the oil and filter this evening and put some new shoes on the back, checked and adjusted the fronts. man you don't want to see the bits on the drain plug:eek:

Would like to say a big thank you to all club members for looking and acting so professional :)

I think we did ourselfs a favour not havinf a club stand as we had much more interest having two of our cars on two of the best stands (thanks Mark on the z cars stand) & (thank you Grace & john on the bmc stand).

we could also all walk around have laugh and didnt have a stand to set up `look after and take down.

I really enjoyed today and think we may have learned a way of enjoying some of shows abit more.

Convoy went really well too. 8 mini's from chester to Bingley without anyone getting lost is an achivement in itself!

Elf here enjoyed his little sELF and hopes every one else did. It was good that Saad decided to join us at the last minute and we hope he enjoyed his run with us. Did you meet up with any of your clubmates from Eastcoast minis pal? Hope you found your way home safely:)

Yeah i was great to meet all of you! I did get to see all of my friends so it was nice to see them too. I got home ok, and I hope everyone was ok too.

Someone in a green clubby was on the hard shoulder of the M6 looking lonesome, I would have pulled over to keep give the guy some company but I was pulling a rather daring manouvere and saw him a bit too late... hehe.

You have to be very careful about stopping on M/ways. the police can be a bit shirty about that. I know we like to help fellow motorists, particularly minis but it is best left to the breakdown boys with their trucks, flashing lights and high visibility jackets.
