My first posting on here, sorry to say with big problems.
Our Mini is the 1000 HL, 1981.
It has done just over 32,000 miles. Three years ago a major engine rebuild.
This week we learn of two oval cyliners, one very badly oiled up and a bent exhaust push rod on this one.
I could go on and on but will keep this brief for now.
If anyone can tell me what has or is going wrong i would really like to know !
Could it just be that this batch of engines were 'dud' or maybe ours was just a 'Friday afternoon' car ?

Hi welcome to the forum :) I would have to question the engine rebuilder ? also to much fuel going in will oval the bore`s especially no`s 2 & 3.

hope you can get it fixed.

hi all im new to the forum so a big hello to you all.. i have a 1986 mini chelsea well its really now a welded up tub. so ive loads of work to do, i need to get it in paint as soon as poss. Problems i think i will have quite a few in the coming months. major one at the moment is what engine. i am working on a very tight budget as its taken me 3years to get this far. the original motor has been stood with one plug missing an no dizzy ers a bit tight,,,,has any of your members fitted a bike engine into a mini front and what drive set up is used. drive shafts,diffs chain or shaft the questions are endless. any thoughts ideas brainwaves accepted... look forward to hearing from anyone,
