Engine Rocking

Is there any way to stop my engine rocking as I cannot get my mini in gear. If so is this hard to do? .......and how do i do it?

Sounds like your engine stabilizer arm bushes need re-newing top and bottom, not a very big job and they don't cost much to replace, as you look at the engine the top one is on the left of the engine and goes from the engine to the bulkhead, if you shake the engine and it moves backward and forward then the bushes have gone and need replacing similar with the lower ones underneath the engine if they are okay then check the engine mountings themselves

Could also be broken mounting points for the stabiliser bars, main engine mounts shot or even the rubber bobbins holding the gear selector mechanism to the body.

I'd also be getting underneath to make sure the roll pins are in securely on the selector rod.
