"Beep" after startup...

On my recently purchased 2005 Cooper, shortly after turning on the ignition there is a loud "beep" from the stereo. Anyone know what it is? Should I be worried?

Is it Bluetooth trying to conect to phone ?

Does the stereo work after more than a few min? Could be asking for the key code like on the old 90's fords I used to drive. They did that when the code needed inputting after a few mins. Just a thought...

That's what I was worried about, but no the radio seems to continue to work fine, so it looks like the Bluetooth explanation is the likely cause. Previous owner has fitted a Nokia handsfree kit. Is this compatible with other phones? (eg Blackberry!)

Good news on that score then. Not sure on the bluetooth score, check with BMW. But you would think it would be universal, worth a phone call at least.
