You may take away the benefits of a cam if you fit roller tips as well, if you don't want to take the engine out just go for a stage one kit with roller tip rockers, polish and port the head and a hif 38 is ample for a 998, this should give you more power but I don't know if you will get the figures you want, it will give you more scope if you fit a 1275

Stick a 1275 in it just for the torque:) Hp isnt everything good torque is what makes a more power felt ride

ive ben looking for a new 1275 lately and on ebay there around £ 300 if not more which needs cleaning up, you might end up spending more than that on your 998 which may equal about the same power,
get a 1275 :D

60 ATW from a NA 998 is a hard work. The lad with the green 998 drag car has managed 60+ ATW at the last Miniaddicts rolling road day. I think he was running

286 cam
race 940 aluminium head
an over bore
dcoe 45

however with that cam it would be a bit lumpy to drive as a road car.
