hi all, i have a 1275 with electronic ignition... my question is can i use any coil or do i need one for electronic ignition only??? reason i ask my engine sounds like its running on 3 cylinders but it isnt, ive tried new leads, new dizzy cap and rotor..ive done a compression test and 3 cylinders are pushing 125 and the other is pushing near 150..timing as been checked and tappets adjusted accordingly so im thinking it maybe the coil as sometimes i can see sparks jumping out

cheers in advance

Electronic coil is needed with full voltage to the coil cant use existing resisted wire if it used to be on points make sure your getting 13v plus at the coil when running

hi deano, the car was running nice but a little on the rich side so i took it for a tune up, last saturday when i started it it sounded and ran like it was on 3 cylinders so all the parts where changed to eliminate...electronic coil it is..cheers mate
