hey guys, anyone got any idea how to tell the difference between carbs? gonna buy a new carb needle for mine but dont know what type of carb it is?

the car is a 1275cc italian job 1993, apparently it's got a metro engine in it (according to ian)

I have been told this place is very good with mini`s will have to go and have a look they could tune your motor good:)

answer to your question before about su springs the red springs are weaker than the blue but some people will use two springs to unsure that the piston in the carb reaches full lift @ the peak power rpm of your engine which can only be done on the rollers. any increase in flow thru your carb eg manifold exhaust filter or carb mods like sliming down the butterfly will dramaticly change how and when the piston it the carb moves. hope that helps

cheers mate, i just ordered a new needle that minispares say is designed for 1275's with lcb, inlet, rc40 and pancake filter - should be spot on! that should make her go quicker! and i got a nice shiny dash pot to make it look nice too! (doesn't add any speed but makes her look better with the bonnet up!:D)

cheers for that, ill look into that after the needle goes in and see if that fixes her little problem! she's making all the right noises but not got the power to match! :(
