Just replace like for like that is how the car was designed. Unless you change all the rubbers you will see any difference.
cheers steve, but would the solid ones last longer ?
i have heard they are noisier (sorry about the pun).

yea they do lead to more noise as there's no shock absorbing in the metal, but by front subframe mounts which ones are you on about? the front pear mounts/ top subframe tower rubbers x4 / or rear mounts?? like steve says you'd have to replace all of them, and the rear sub rubbers to see a massive difference! stick to standard ones mate! :)
the only real reason i can think to go to solid mounts are either if you're seriously race/rallying the car or going for a fibreglass front end!

I would go poly abit of movement & should last longer than standard ones dont go solid unless all are solid it will wreck the front panel ;)
It also seems very difficult to get decent standard mounts

Yes, your are right! I have tried all those new things. I found: The standard rubber stuff has been designed by the engineers decades ago.:)
Except what Keith Calver said about the front tie bars -as far as I remeber - inner Poly, outer rubber. Have not yet tried this version. Does anybody?

I checked Keith Calvers article on supension again (Mini Magazine) and here is his recommendation from long experience for the tie bars: Rubber on the inside and Poly on the outside. This mix has shown the best results in damping.

Rose joints are the way forward no play in them :) If you could get hold of genuine standard teardrops there great but all these cheap copy`s just rip apart but then again there seems to be alot of cheap poly rubbish about too:(

Maybe I tried his uprated ones they sell on minispares, and they only lasted about 18 months, and I only do very low miles as the car is used for club runs etc... I now run poly on both sides. just my opinion
thanks for all the comments.
think i will go with poly. she should longer lasting and be a bit firmer for better handling.
cheers
