As you know the latest Auto has blown up so time to change to a Manual & a maual turbo.
Old engine & subframe is out.
Im building the new manual turbo engine into another auto subframe which i have seam welded & triangulated for strengh & using auto to manual adapt plates the reason im using a auto frame is the subframe is wider & engine sits abit further forward giving more clearances for the turbo.
Im also using rosejointed bottom arms & tie rods all the other bushes etc are polly as i dont want the front end to wonder about when the boost comes in.

If you are going for big boost are you going to run a mapped ignition? I found a coupl for great features in Megajolt:
- you can switch maps by wiring up a switch on the dash or wheel! so you could have a high boost retarded map!
- you can control external devices like solenoids movable boost depending on RPM springs to mind!
- You can get an external input like a temp sender so you can correct the advance depending on temp.... good for warm-up routines or measuring intake temp!
Not that I'm trying to stop you from ending the engines in a big bang..

Hi looking good there .but I have found through expierience (Citroën ax gti 16v conv , Suzuki sj with 16 gt crossflow, ford 100e with crossflow, moggy minors all stitched up) that fully seam welding load bearing parts like you have actually causes the part to Tear along the side of the weld where as stitch welding it still allows some Degree of flex but still gives it the strength . Just an observation though , each to ther own though.

I know exactly what you mean & as a rule i dont seam full lenth unless its less than a foot & never had any problems but i have seen stress cracks on fully seam welded rally cars before alit depends on how much heat is used during welding too.
