hopin someone can help with this. charlie's a 93 italian job and havin massive problems with her electrics.
for the MOT (and to drive her really) she needs her indicators, & stop lights working.
they were working last time i drove her and while i've been tidying her up ive tidied the wiring up. since then they havent worked so i think i've co*ked up somewere,
i thing the problem is down to a larger green/white wire that runs down the drivers side of the inner wing, that was still in the original harness but can't find were it goes to! id taken it as just an indicator wire but looking at it now it seems like it carrys a current and its too big just to power the lights. i think thats the problem but also can't find it in the paynes manual!

I've had a look for this on the wiring loom that came out of maria (88 jet black) and i think i've found it but it goes straight to a relay on that loom.
on charlie i've not touched the relays as there are more on her to power the factory fit spots etc, but i've still got this wire!
if anyones got any ideas how to get them workin i'd appreciate the help!
:)
cheers

also to follow this - (although this does rely om my interpritations of the multimeter!)
the dark green wire that comes out of the headlight unit is carrying a current.
the indicator stalks are not.
the hazard switch is not (both should be the green / brown wire?)
there is a tiny inline fuse in that circuit that is roughly behind the heater motor - that is all ok, all the other fuses i can find are ok and if i tap this bigger Light green / white wire onto the multiplug ive fitted for the fibreglass front, one of the relays on the right hand side by the wiper motor clicks, but no indicators!
i've tested the bulbs individually with a 12v feed and they come on ok so its definately in the circuit somewere!

all i've messed with have been replacing the inline fuses and fusebox with 2 blade fuseboxes and i've repaired damaged wire by the starter motor and then rebound everything..
i've also had to make a loom to power the fibreglass frontend and a 7 pin multiplug attatches that to the standard wires that come down the inner wing. that is were this light green/ white wire sits.

cheers

Ok looking at the correct key now... this is from an 86 on carb multi instrument model

GW connects 54 Directional indicator repeater lights, turns green to 26 front RH directional indicator light. The GW runs to the back then splits via a junction,to 24 directional indicator switch and to the hazard switch. Just after the split it turns Green to 28 rear RH directional indicator light Will give you a shout this afternoon re- the crane, but I think the new engine might be knackered...

i've spent the last 2 days scratching my head with this now - bin lookin over the internet this morning and i've found some things in common.
loads of people are having problems with wiring on 92-94 carb model 1275s - seems like the wiring loom was made up on the spot and no-one was told what it did! :(

has anyone got a 93 carb model they can check the wiring on and let me know?
i need to know the pins/wires going to the 2 relays by the wiper motors, and if anyone can find were the big light green / white wire on the drivers side inner wing goes to??

cheers

Hi,is it possible you have no earth now that you fitted a fibreglass front.

yeah everything was earthed, turned out to be a problem with the purple/ white wire that feeds the flasher unit, ran a new cable and everything worked fine,
