Hello all!

I have a 1984 Mini 25 limited edition which had engine problems 10 years ago before my dad parked it in our garage, it layed dormant for 8 - 10 years, and was finally thought about, around 1 month ago.
Yes we have come across lots of rust, seized parts, oil leaks, destroyed exterior bodywork, but when you look inside, it reminds you of what an orginal Mini 25 should look like, as the interior is not ripped, faded colour, dirty, de-faced or has aged looks.

Today we finally got the engine out, after passing annoying hurdels like, seized CV joints, and clutch problems...
But apart from these things with the engine, it runs pretty well after sleeping for 8 years or so:P

We are now in the process of stripping, welding, painting and fitting new parts.
Hopefully it'll go well and we won't hit any major project haulting things..

Speak soon.
(P.s. Does anyone know if the car will fail the M.O.T on a welded rear subframe? I've herd rumors that theres a law against welded subframes knower days.)

thats a dificult one. some places wil fail it and tell you to replaced it but some of them wont... it depends on the tester i think.
but always best to replace if your unsure

M.O.T. law says it will fail but like Ian says it depends on the testing station, it helps if you have someone who is sympathetic to minis

Got the rear subframe off last night, both me and my dad have been at work alot over the past few days, so haven't had much time for the mini.
Ill will get photos of the mini and the parts taken off, this week for you all.
I've bought the new suspension for it, but does anyone have any advise on brakes, i've looked at minispeed's KAD 8.4inch 4pot alloy caliper vented disc brake conversion kit. Any ideas if i would need to make adjustments to my orginal caliper mounts? Or buy a conversion kit, i think some shops sell them?

Thanks alot.
Conor.
