Well it happened, i got my first mini and it cost me £100 :p its a 1988 mini Mayfair in British racing green, 998cc engine, its done 23k miles, an MOT receipt came with it from 2004 which stated it had done 13k, not bad, a bit scabby, could do with some new panels and a bonnet but the floor panels are mint and the cills aren't too bad, it will be running when we sort a battery out, will be working on it for a while and hopefully be driving it in the summer.
Will be having it transported and garaged as soon as i find someone with a trailer and will start taking some pics, will keep you posted! :D and also thanks to Allistair for telling me about the mini, it was a good find!
Here are a few pics:

Its not in bad nick at the moment, I've got some pics, will upload them now :p Also cheers to Mervyn for transporting it, it went great until my dad remembered the battery was dead in the back of focus, we had to run to a neighbour and lend some jumper cables :D

Decided to start playing with the mini tonight, spent an hour or two stripping parts off and having a proper look at what were dealing with.

Had a poke round, removed the windows, seals, strips etc, the floors tidy, boots in relatively decent condition, no leaks or anything :D going ti charge the battery and see if it can run on its own (and maybe run it round the back of the house)
EDIT: another little update - took all the interior, doors grille, headlights and engine out, going to start cutting the rust out and return her to her former glory :D
EDIT: (again) the car is stripped down and were starting to cut out and weld, got the panels last weekend and hoping to get cracking soon.

Another update with some pictures, alot of the welding has been done, the sills were in a pretty bad state (inner and outer) some just welded a new sills over an old one and the rust had carried straight through  the door steps were replaced, a bit of welding to the floors and to the a posts and in the inner of the front arches, the boot is halfway there and as you can see the fronts off ready to be lined up for the scuttle, wings and A panels :)

Sorted it now, and i must say im rather impressed with the picture quality since it was taken on my phone :) ill throw some more up after

Sorry its been a while since i last came on the forum, been a busy few months but the mini's still coming along, shes finished being welded and now shes being prepped for spraying, just needed a bit of info on how to tackle the surface rust, its been rubbed down with sand paper and there is no rust visible although it has the bubbles, should this have some form of treatment to stop it reoccurring?
