Mini In The Park

Ok peeps time to start planning our next event. We were thinking of doing Cheshire Mini Day in Macclesfield but due to them not allowing post 1991 cars it rules out any BMW and later classsics taking part (which is poo)!!!

Thought we might do MINI IN THE PARK instead (as discussed on sat at the parade). It takes place on Sunday 20th August 2006. We thought we might try and get a Club Stand there and maybe camp over on the Saturday night.

Sounds like its gonna be a biggie!!! Please shout up if you are interested and we can get the ball rolling. Have downloaded all the relevant forms. If you are going to come for definate we will need some money from you. Prices are as follows:

Tickets are £10 each (under 14's free) £15 if you pay on the day
Camping £6 each (under 14's free)
Vehicle Pass (every car must have one) £6 each but includes a free adult ticket (for the driver of course)

Will keep you updated on this event as soon as i know anymore.

we got our tent from asda, its a 2 man for £10, they got 3 man for £20 and 4 man for £20, double airbeds for £14 & our sleeping bags were only £7 from tesco,
Supermarkets rock! camping on a budget!!!

:D u wanna try an catch argos on a sale too, got my tent for £16 3man, then double air bed with inbuilt pump from B&H stores for £12 and a chair for £3 with beer holder (most important!!) so handy especially if ya keep it in ya car!!!

Has anyone already got tickets?? Need to know before i book us in. Think every mini needs a vehicle pass and with this you get 1 adult ticket. Have been in touch with Mini in the Park today and it's ok to have a Club Stand as long as we get our application in quick.

I fully understand what your saying roy, but as a joint club we would like to show our true colours and not like other clubs in the area that shun the BMW's in favour of the classics, or even ask the BMW's to drive at the rear of a convoy as to not disturb classic owners!
If we are going to do a show, as a joint club, I feel we shoud do it as a Joint medium.
I know the Beemer drivers dont mind us doing some of the shows without the beemers, as most of the beemer drivers have had classics in the past.
As you know yourself Roy, untill only 6 weeks ago i was driving a Beemer as well as a classic and it is so hard to get the balance right, but im sure we will do this.
I fully uunderstand your point 100% however, we cannot please all the people all the time. If it was up to me, i would attend every show on the calender, however due to massive work commitments and a financial strain of having to pay DSA (Dog Support Agency ) for the dog, i would!

hey the general sir!! U do have a point about the bmw's shudn't feel shunted about events such as macclsefield and do appreciate ya opinions, but as a knew club we don't want to take any chances to upset anyone, plus looking at the pre 1991 vehicles, we genuinlly don't have many of them in the club, (a few more now than when we did when we were gna organise the event to go), so we chose MITP for this months event instead so everyone can go!! (plus i really want to go ;) ) and as club TCM said we can't attend every event unfortunatly!! :(

Jst been thinking, to save everyone, taking every piece of kit know to man to fill the minis up for MITP, if you want to i have a small gas two ring burner that anyone can use if they so wish, just thought it saves everyone taking one down, dosnt it?

and i like to listen to the rain on my tent
and the revving of those tuned a-series engines
and the tunes from all that quality i.c.e.

Hi all. I've got a super batch of photos from MITP . Will I overload the system if I upload them all.. 46 shots about 300kb each. Can bring them on a disk to next meeting if easier.

I think we all owe a vote of thanks for all the hard work that was put in to get our tickets, organise the stand space, the wonderful breakfast on Sunday etc etc etc , and really important the support vehicle driven with such aplomb at the back. (Sorry for frightening you by overtaking on that hill out of Kidderminster when you didn't know we were behind you.)

Great weekend out, just put more effort into getting the weather right next time.
