I am new to this showing cars off at shows and what I would like to know, what is the best procedure with the limited cleaning kit and perhaps limited amounts of water of getting a car looking good at a show. I will polish it the day before but after a drive perhaps in the wet and with little space in the vehicle for buckets sponges, chamis, cloths, polish etc what can I do? Do I carry a moist sponge in a bag to wipe water stains off, even though I run the risk of scratching the paint work? Arrrgggghhhhh Help please?

you can get those waterless cleaners... some people take a bucket and water and give the car the full monty.. have seen a lawn mower sort the grass the car is sitting on...
An full valet the day before and then should just beable to wipe it down on the day..

Good stuff! Autoglym too is an excellent brand easy to use(keep and eye out in Jan Halfords sale ;)...years ago when I use to compete in the UK Sound Off Scene I had to be up in stand and 6am to get the car detailing ready for judgeing at 10am........yeah I did have the usual kit of dusters polishes sparays, but the dont forget the cotton buds (for dash vents slats),toothbrush for the alloy wheels) selotape( for removing fluff from upholstery)nailbrush for pedals rubbers! But that was competition!Showing is less stressfull these days,as may know I like to use mudoglym ;) and have a flithy Mini on show sometimes a total twist for me (love valeting)and brings a smile to many.....but I still have to clean it for weeks after lol

Just let it go rusty then there is no need to polish it and who knows you could even win a trophy "Shed of the Show", sorry that is reserved for BMW Minis

Each to their own, I like like both and its spawned a new era of retro cars, which I prefer the look and lines of.

some of the new ones are looking really good one of my fav ones is all in black no chrome look great.
One thing i will say Auto glym seems to work better on older paint & meguires looks great on modern metalic paints
