Help on windscreen wipers

Hi

my step son has bought a 1980 mini city and has found that his windscreen wipers are running slow. We are going to buy a new motor for the wipers but wondered if ayone had any ideas if there could be anything else we should be trying? Will be really grateful if someone could give me ideas before the end of tomorrow when we will be bidding on a motor on ebay.

low motor power by the sounds of it ... the motor is either not getting enough power from the battery or the motor isnt operating at its maximum due to a fault within it self.

1. battery might be at fault or the charging system [ if the car is running and everything else is ok then it wont be this ]

2. wiper motor

cool mate , the mini wipers are bad enough at full speed never mind being slow !

The motors are a very common problem.
