Hi everyone,
Thought i would start a project thread i was given a Mini Clubman 1275 GT 1979, it was a total wreck been unused for many years so started a full nut and bolt restoration, this is the condition when i collected her in june this year.

These pics were taken after the initial stripdown, very rusty roof and rotten door pillars.Roof was replaced along with most floor panels practically everything.!!.If you would like more pics just say.

In "Mervyn speak" It's do-able! Now you've started you should be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel (a long way off mind!)

All welding done underneath treated and painted boot floor, hinge panel and valance replaced, ready for subframes.

Looking good. My black clubby is having the same sort of work done (by me). Outer sills, roof, front end and lower back end. Keep it up!

Well its been along time since i posted, so its about time i did, the shell was lovingly painted by Denty & Scratchy brilliant job!!... so a few pics to share.
Also i need some advice on the engine that i eventually got a few weeks ago, hope someone on here can help.

The car looks great. What's up with the engine??
Because the engine has not been used for 20 yrs the owner cant remember why he took it off the road, he seems to think it had a hairline crack in the water jacket,it came with a spare head will post some pics if you like.

Personally, I would strip it down and check everything over. Then rebuild it with new bearings etc. I don't see the point in putting all the time and effort into the shell etc then putting an unknown potentially shot engine in it.
It sounds a bit difficult and daunting, but it's not difficult. You just have to take your time and double check everything. Destructions in the haines manual should see you through it.

Looks great mate.
Not into the thousands yet, not far off, does anyone know of an engine shop local that can look at the cylinder head for repair/overhaul.

theres a guy down dock road in connahs quey, hammond somethin his name is, hes mint on engine work etc
