As some you may know already. We have been looking for a mini for Rhys.
A couple of months ago we took in a mini from Neil. The mini is E reg Mini City 998cc, which we are going to build up for Rhys ready for next year.

The sole design for the car is going to be down to Rhys plus the cost of all the parts etc.

When we got the mini the paintwork looked like somebody that put sandpaper on it as it had been painted with a glitter. So we decided the best way round this was to strip all the paintwork from the car.

We have already replaced the n/s outer sill and the boot floor, boot hinge panel and rear valence.

As we got more into striping the paintwork from the car, we started to find a few hole into front wings etc. So now it as had all the front removed.
The mini was going to a nice easy job to do. But now, as the front end is been cut off , we are going to flip front it. We have decided to make it into a possible show car.

Here are some photos of where we are up to.

I wish I had that opportunity when I was a lad! Had to make do with pulling the cord to put the blind up and down on the rear window in my Dad's Austin 12:D Mechanical brakes front and rear. A real nightmare

Now you have gone this far, junk the 1000 and get a front mounted bike engine or vtec, or really let the imagination go and fit a 350 chevy and become the ultimate back seat driver, lets see if the old man could keep up with you then eh Rhys, theres something about the roar of a V8 in the distance especially if your'e behind it in a black mini cooper

I hope that he has fun watching it come together - I think most people would appreciate their cars if they saw them being built.

Keep us all posted Steve. Looking forward to watching this one.

It been a long time of Rhys nagging me, I finally got around to doing a bit on his car for him. The dayglow colour as now changed to a dark pearl grey, and a black pearl roof. Any way at long last some updated photos.

Looks good that Steve, I like the colur scheme better than that green, it shouldn't stand out as much and maybe it won't become a coppers nightmare and they might leave Rhys alone, mind you they only seem to bother with old farts like me
