My new mini Please help newbie :)

Hey,

I just got 850cc 1981 classic black mini and i was wondering what sort of engine mods i can do to tune it up because obviously 850cc has a low max speed? also any great places to get parts ie websites or anything would be really helpful btw im a UK user

most people start with a stage one kit. there are loads of mini part sites.

www.minispares.co.uk is the one I use the most.

How long is a piece of string?

It depends on a lot of things.
If you are accident free and have a no claim discount
Your age
Annual mileage
Where you live and is car garaged
Has it got a Theft Alarm?
The level of insurance cover,do you use it to go to work.

I'm afraid you will have to make your own enqiry of your insurance company but make it specific that it is only an enquiry ........ and good luck

yeh thanks i suddenly thought about insurance question after i posted it..

anymore engine mods/ tweaks i can do i really want to tune it up its got a bad top speed/acceleration..

850`s arnt usually the fastest cars about but can be tuned to be very quick but you will need a stack of cash & time:)

Basic mods include Stage 1 kit

A ported big valve head

roller rockers

camshaft

etc etc
