Been out stripping the doors down etc & squirting expanding foam into all the voids in the body kit between cills etc the stuff is everywhere:o

I had allmost forgot how a mini door comes apart its been a while since ive stripped one down them fidly clips that hold all the lock/handle lingages together.

Not long now intill we get it to Denty`s to chuck some paint on:)

Im also after a rover rear number plate recess fitted to most old rover`s 214 216 45 etc:confused:

I rebuilt the doors today with all the locks etc which is never fun with fingers like mine:(

They all fitted great I lined the doors up so they closed all nice. I then opened & closed then I got in & shut the door .... & discovered I had done something stupid (not the 1st time) I had put the internal openers the wrong way around drivers on passengers & viceversa so i cant open them from inside intill i strip everything back off both & swap them around :mad:

The headlining wasnt much fun either with the sun roof but its getting closer :)

Waiting for the custom made exhuast from Maniflow we ordererd at bingley to fit thru the holes on the body kit.

I cant believe how well the manilow LCB`s fit I will never fit another make of lcb again

Thanks to the old man & Richie we got the screen in & bled the brakes:) have also made a bracket to hold the heater valve as ive allways hated the way they just hang on the pipes on the later models.

nice... the maniflow exhaust I got is the absolute nuts.. fit was bang on, and there all stainless inside.. just mild on the outside to make the perfect sound...

I know mate it was the first thing I said to Steve when I got it, i tried loads of other exhausts, rc40, peco, home made, cheap manifolds all a nightmare. I must admit I use the SC stainless manifold as it came with a O2 bung, plus its a bit of bling.. :) link and back box has been on a year and the box still looks like new..

The stroked 1466 engine that i put in her is Knackerered it smoke`s like dot cotton 1st thing in the morning.

Its thick white Bluey smoke for 10-15 mins not just condensation it would smoke a small town out:eek:

But once its cleared its fine all day :confused:

So we changed the head gasket & still the same.

Then we cahnged the Head thinking the oil might be coming down a cracked guide or something & its still the same.

So im thinking cracked block now or stuck scraper rings on No 4 its only No4 cylinder thats geting the oil in it:(

So another engine in for now i think :( At least i know my heavily modified head is ok :)

Have flushed it :( not sure if it is the rings because it only does it when you fire it up after a long rest eg 16 hours etc & after 10 - 15 mins running it dont smoke at all :confused:

was the gasket sealing... maybe thats why you had an issue with only one bore? are the surfaces dead flat? I have had the stud hole pull up slightly

Yep had straight edge on it really flat :( all sud holes are good its got me in a right pickle :(

Compression tests were all ok & pressure test fine just kept spewing oil into no4 cylinder when engine off :confused: oil can only go down so you would think head but had to different heads & its exactly the same:mad:

1st head is me modded one straight off mavis the we took it off fitted new oil seals fitted it back no difference & second head is chris`s straight from machine shop with new valve`s bronze guides & a skim so i Have rulled the head out.

both heads had big build up of oil in no4 exhaust port after being on engine & 4th plug allways got covererd in oil :confused:

Engine has run fine no noise just a load of smoke 1st think in the morning

I dont want to really fit the other 1275 in because its the elf`s for his van & the next engine that goes in i want it to stay there because of the risk damaging paint bodykit etc putting it in & out.

Going to do me best to get the funds for marks short engine as that would be a great motor to stick in & it couold stay there all painted nice:)

Might get the block crack tested as i really want to know whats going on.

could the block be porous, due to the rebore? Ade had a head go porous after some porting work it would let coolant in over night..

oh are you sure that all of the oil is out of the exhaust when you swapped the head over? I hate problems like this where you cant find an exact fault, you spend ages finding the fault...

not all the oil was out the exhaust but that usually smoke`s when hot. we cleaned all the heads when fitted & they all came back off with last exhaust port full of burnt oil :( im thinking pourous block or crack that closes up when hot

Forgot to say it has tripple compression rings & oil scraper so how oil got past them is a mystery:confused:

if you pull the piston to the bottom of the stroke does it fill up over night? I presume that the gasket lines up bang on with everything? hows the bore spacing etc?

Bore spacing is ok only +20 overbore but has 85mm stroke the engine allways seem to stop with no4 down & oil got in somehow

all looks allmost new :confused: i was thinking it could be poroue from the oil return as it close to the bore have seen it go thru on a 1380 but look ok just one small score on the bore mid way o the top

Failed on Emmisions & rear brake 46% instead of %50 so a few tweeks then back for free re-test :)

co was 3.51% nedds to be 3.5%

hydrocarbons 1826 ppm need`s to be 1200 ppm not bad for a 1400 engine thats only done 30 mile
