could it be the over flow of the carb ?
If the float in the carb sticks it will over flow, normaly the over flow pipe should over the top and down the side of the transfer case...
Hi ith a hif 44 carb there doesnt seem to be a overflow pipe and no part of the carb seemed to be leaking.

my HIF has an overflow which some people block off.
mine has a breather, overflow, and the fuel intake pipes.
The overflow should be connected to a pipe that exits down by the wing.
hae you checked the fuel line from the tank to the pump then pump to the carb?

The Hiff carb has a over flow pipe mate like all carbs, this shouldnt be blocked off at all as it will defo over fuel as the fuel will then be pumped into the needle.
as Graham says the over flow pipe should be conectd and piped down the over flow pipe on the drivers side of the engine away from the exhuast.
If you take a look at your carb, the fuel intake will be on the drivers side at the bottom of the carb, then the pipe just above that is the pipe for the over flow this is the pipe that should run across the top of the transfer case then down the bell housing
