New Mini stereo

Hey all, was just wondering if anyone knows a cheapish way to upgrade the stereo in my mini. For those who don't no its the new generation R56 shape. Its the standard stereo and tbh its pretty poor for BM!!! All ideas welcome, thank you!!

I find most stock systems dont have a rich sound. You could always add some bass via a high level input (Speaker connection) You will find you wont have to drive the car speakers verymuch to poduce a richer louder sound. This way you dont have to rip the HU out and if its anything like my 5 it hooked into all of the warning system and onboard computer so a pain to remove.

It doesnt have a HU as such as its all built into the dash. I was just wondrin if i could just put sum betr quality speakers in, not sure if it will take em tho??:confused:

most people on there have just installed low impedance speakers to help the sound quality, you may have to register on the site before reading the thread.

Phil I have a bass box and amp spare so you could try it... you will need a high to low convertor (About £15) so you can run it from a rear speaker, you would jut then need a perm live, and a switched live + a ground. As I say you can try it, then decide if you want one, PS no Im not trying to sell you this one as I want to keep it :D

Thanx m8, i do have an amp and sub, (that would by no way or means of fitting in my boot!) that i used to run in my peugeot! But then again i had an ample amount of boot space! Not after a boy racer sound system, just quality!

Thanx for that info as well Keith, glad am not the only one! Just makes me think that u need the extras!! Got to say its the only thing am dissapointed with tho. Altho on that thread i did see somthin about rattles tho that mines not shy to! Then again i hate customers who complain of rattles!!!

Is Iceman still active these days? Could do with his expertese!

You dont have to tune it to take your back window out mate:D it will just take some of the load off of the small car speakers, like a 5.1 home system
