Lube......

Is Cam lube a myth or is it needed (before i kill mine putting it back together!) :eek:

looked round the internet and the general consensus is that normal engine oil will be fine on the journals but the lobes need special cam lube because of the pressures of the cam followers!
but i'm sure on the 1380 dvd, bill solis just uses 20w50 mineral oil (what i'm using as build oil!)

went to quality factor and they dont stock it and they only deal with trade and garages, they said they haven't seen it for ages!

will i actually need it to put my road engine back together??

normal engine oil will do fine
that is all that is pumped round when it is running n e way

just put plenty on
that is all we used on the v6 engines when i use to build them in vauxhalls too

I use ep 90 gear oil as it sticks like S~*t & ive never had a problem:)
