With a 1275 cooper engine, is it best to fit a cone filter to the carb or run a performance filter element inside the standard air box? bare in mind the car is used on the road and not a track! Is there any difference in noise?

yep the induction filter will be more noisy, also don't forget you will need a new needle for the carb. best to get a Rolling road tune-up to get it spot on, so it would be worth thinking about any more mods you want to do so you get the best of the tune.

If its a straight carb engine it will run lean without the new needle as you will have more airflow which is why the good stage 1 kits come with a replacement needle. The RR session will just make sure the car is running correctly and you get the most power out of your mod.
