Scrutineer was telling us about the megajolt/megasquirt at the weekend and just wondering if anyone has experience of fitting or running this set up.

mmm was thinking about it... everything I have read says once you have done it you wont go back... the main advantage for me would be the advance curve... also look at polestar as they have a knock sensor... (Forced induction a big plus)
you can get the megajolt/squirt from the US already made up for about £100 and it uses ford coil pack and pickup module.. you would need to get a trigger wheel made for and a mount for the bottom pulley so the system can read the engine cycle. check out mini pulleys web site its a dude on turbo minis that makes them.
I think the polestar kit has the lot in the kit but I haven't done much research into them, they do appear to be the only kit with a knock sensor.
Let us know how you get on

Mate of mine had a Rover 820 turbo running one of them had 340bhp out of an almost standard motor:eek:
Polestar is the best tho fantastic bit of kit but ££££££ and you need a very good rolling road to set em up.
Kad sell trigger wheel kits that use a 36 point ford sensor for maegasquirt etc

I think the pole star for te A-series with knock is just under £600.. lots of pennies but it would give very good engine control. no worrying about Det

One of the major bonuses of running it on the rally car will be no more problems with water in the dizzy which caused us a problem at Ty Croes at the weekend.
