Tony do you know how to remove the dashboard from an Elf?

The only instructions I got mention undoing two wing nuts inside the glove boxes either side of the centre console and then it should come out in one piece.

My car doesn't have wing nuts, instead it has two captive screws. I've undone done these as far as they go but the damn thing wont budge. It's certainly looser either side of the console but there's still something holding onto it behind the console and at either end of the dashboard. Any ideas?

Cheers

Jerry

I have just had a look at mine as it's a while since I removed them and couldn't quite remember!
To remove mine I had to undo two wing nuts off the centre panel and one at each side of the car This may be different on your MK3 as you have air vents whereas I haven't. If you can pm me with your e-mail address I will send you photos direct of my dashboard at the back. OK?

Thanks for the pictures Tony, it sure looks cold up your way, it's still fairly warm down here in Essex :).

Unfortunately the pictures have confirmed is that my dashboard does not have the same style of construction as yours. I'll shall have to ask around, maybe someone at the Elf/Hornet club will know.

Cheers,

Jerry

There are three wingnuts to each side panel on mine and the centre console has two self tapscrews holding it to the parcel shelf and look awkward to access with the wires to the light switches. Maybe the previous owner has fitted it differently?
Sorry I have'nt been able to help.:(

Do let me know how you get on, or rather how you get it off ! :D
