steering

Hi everyone, I'm new to mini and this website. I have a lovely chelsea which i brought few month ago. I just hope someone can tell me what seems to be the problem with my steering, and this is only one of the few problems i have, but i think i will try to sort this one out before i can try to sort others. basically, the steering seems to be a bit lose when driving. im guessing its the inner steering column because when i dry steer i can feel the free movement of the steering wheel before the wheels actually turns. its just like something is not tightened enough. can anyone please help~

Sounds like your track rod ends.

You could try checking the clamp is secure round the base of the column inside the car?

first thought is track rod ends then the clamp.
if neither of them it could be your top engine steady bushes or the subframe mounting bushes
