Anyone know why this has happened I'm not sure if its corrosion or the have been burnt.. I did notice that car being out in the cold on MITP has cause corrosion on the outside of the carbs... all in one night..

you should see the carb bodies... :p new cap and 8mm leads found in the garage so starting on the full service.:)

The build up on the posts in the cap are caused by the reaction of the spark crossing from the copper rotor arm to the ally contacts causing a flux like build up plus a bit of damp causing the post to corrode quite common

Merv is correct there and on top of that the spark can get weaker as it has to jump a bigger gap.A new dissy cap is the way to go,They harden with age and heat and usually crack up (a bit like me really!)LOL
