Ok just some information for any Hydro users....

Over the last few days we replaced the hydro displacers on the front suspension...

To do so we

- removed the road wheel
- popped the top ball joint
- popped the knuckle joint on the top arm that goes into the displacer
- removed the top arm
- disconnected and removed the displacer...

We fitted the new displacer and re-pumped the suspension, all was well... I went out for a spin and was getting pulling to one side, un-even braking. So I checked the pressure in the tyres and ensure the car was level but checking the ride height after re-pressurising with fluid...
still the same...

I took the wheels off to fit competition bump stops after Steve has had great sucess with them, thinking it would help my aging rubber displacer's when they are at full load to find that the knuckle joint had popped out from the displacer and ridden rough shod all over it.

I tried to pop it back in no chance... so I stripped the front suspension again removed the burr from the displacer hole where the knuckle joint fits...

After everything went back together I noticed that I could pop out the knuckle joint on full suspension travel...

I now think I know why the rebound rubber buffer the fits below the top arm "blade" side was missing it only had the metal bracket... When Steve and I took the suspension apart we noticed this "L" shaped peice of metal and thought well that doesn't do much... on closer inspection it used to have rubber glued to it.. so I have de-greased them and found some rubber and glued it to it, I will pop a pic up.. its an bit rough and ready but with less than 24 hours to MITP it will do...
I don't think it mattered before because the knuckle and displacer were stuck together with age...

Just hope the replacement displacer holds out as they are £380 at Somerfords....

comp bump stops installed they are massive compared to the standard  so I'm hoping that this should give the displacers some support when the suspension is at its max travel and they are taking the most pressure.:)

I have fitted my bodged rebound rubbers... Does anyone know if they have these on the dry cars?? might beable to get some new ones at the show....

Just got to get the wheels and re-pressurise the system with Fluid... Just hope that the displacer is ok..... or its

---- GAME OVER ----
