Hi All

Needing a lil bit of help please.

My 2002 cooper is loosing pressure from the tyres around 2-3 psi whilst idle from 3 wheels and the 1 of them is also going completely flat every few days, it is fitted with the standard 16" 5 spokes and running run flats.
I have had a garage look at it and they say the tyres are fine and the one which keeps going flat has now been resealed and refitted twice, now thinking it is the wheels themselves.
Guess what I am wondering really is has anyone else had similar problems and do any of you have any ideas or solutions short of changing the wheels. Also do you know of any sealing compounds available that you could recommend.
Failing all that does anyone know of anywhere doing good deals on above sized wheels.

Thanx All
Venessa

Hello

I have had simalar problems twice the 1st one turned out to be dodgy Valve`s and once replaced the problem was solved.:)

The second one happened when the lacquer had lifted off of the rim and the wheel wouldnt seal. Had to rub them down & re-paint them but if they have corroded bad it could mean new wheels:(

Hope this Helps.

Depending on when you bought your car take it back to the dealers if it is still under warrenty and have them check it out.
failing that and you decide to go down the route of new wheels heres a few links TBH I dont know what sort of price to be looking for a set of wheels
http://www.mstylemini.co.uk/Mini-Alloys.htm £670
http://www.mini2.com/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1470/cat/12 private seller £150
have a look round on mini2.com aswell there is more wheels on there for sale may pick up a bargain
It may also be worth looking to get an aftermarket set of alloys if the price is too much for standard ones

thanx both for the info. It is a rite weird one cause today they have all held pressure perfectly.
I have had the rims cleaned and resealed already so am real peeved by this one would'nt mind having to spend whatever it takes as long as it sorts the problem only at present not sure where to spend it for the best. lol.
I have now contacted my local dealer who has said they will take a look at it for me so will be popping down to see them this week.
Thanx again
