hi every one I got a 1988/89 racing green mini part of the cheque mate and flame red series having a continued problem with running when lights/ electrics on engine misses runs fin during day light hours have up grade to higher ampage altinater changed battery checked all leads added extra earth only things i havent touched are the coil and distributer yet am thinking of changing but not sure what to get as coil is painted over have traced to find that coil is using ballast resistor cabling i feel that some one has changed dizzy at some stage has electronic version at moment is this correct as to manufacture or would it be another version in 89 please can some one advise or is there an upgrade that will fit straight on to most am at wits end with car at minute as runs like a dream during day even for long distances with lights on is ok when i get revs up so short version need to change coil and dizzy dont want to get maga prici sports stuff but want to drive at night so please please help !!!! just want to get right thing first time
