I'm no leccy boffin. But I guess that is what the suppressor is for to "soften" the spark effect therefore I don't suppose you will get a reading at all?
They're cheap enough to replace and if youv'e no interference on radio (out of tune, vol turned up) then it's ok.

I have replaced the suppressor on both the coil and the alternator and even changed the dizy, the leads are suppressed i think the next step is to rip his tv ariel down, as the chap across the road recons he is going to get me done for knocking his tv off os soon as i start my mini.

I think your next step is to find a very dark place the darkest possible, and look at the electrics for a few minutes. It's an old trick. you may ,with some luck see some stray sparks.
Some years ago I fitted an electonic ignition (using the existing points etc) the difference was amazing but after a short while I started having problems.
An old mechanic friend of mine suggested the above. The result, a display better than Blackpool! The E/ignition had produced such a powerful spark the leads were shot ! Result new copper wire leads with plug suppressors and the car fet as if it had a new motor!
Keep trying mate, if all else fails shoot the neighbour!

tell him to get a better telly! they only interfere with analogue (?) signal and older CRT type tvs! he needs a good sky package and a lcd / plasma telly! :D
