Mini`s are worth more every year;)
I'm using £50 a week in petrol from holywell to deeside so the scooby has to go, on the other hand i have changed the engine 3 times in my mini and only covered around 100 miles in the past 5 years think the wife will understand NO

It's downhill from Holywell to Deeside, try free wheeling there. Just use engine to get back LOL

scooby! how have you gone thru 3 engines?? mines done nearly 100k and still fine so far (touch wood!)
I could freewheel there and call the AA relay to get home sorted
I have gone through 3 engines because the first one was a 998 then i got a modified 1275 with race cam etc so i was told, then i fitted a 1275 from a mg metro that was re-board after the car was flood damaged i might get a decent engine one day

Now why didn't I think of that? :D
I once broke down on holiday whilst towing the caravan. Recovery couldn't find out what was wrong, decided to tow me home, next day, I thought I would check it out myself. I know I think I'll put battery on charge, might be a bit flat after all the attempts to start it. And guess what...... one connection was loose!!!! So I got home free of charge, chauffeur driven and my tank was still full! So Nige you could do that, I think AA will soon cotton on though!
I was surprised to find out even though you are a member if you call them out more than three times in one year they charge you

I think thats a fair number of call outs. Part of the deal is that you keep the vehicle in a good cond, regularly serviced in hope it won't breakdown but things happen don't they?(at the most inconvenint times and places I might add)
