In his last e-mail to me, he has been out for a run and is having a couple of electrical faults and the mini needs tuning and his word's "What's new?" :D

Thanks for great comments. Tony has been coaching me on the King's English (I speak the Subject's English). Changing points will be a challenge without removing the grille! Electronic ignition may be the first upgrade. Animal

I'm thinking of changing to the Aldon Igniter as it all fits under the cap and they do a + earth option. not cheap at £85.00 :o

Should be worth it though, I fitted a sparkrite electronic ignition to a Toyota Hiace Van once, the spark was so powerful the plug leads broke down and had to fit copper lead ones. Went like stink afterwards ! It retained the original points and condenser which did'nt touching for about 5000 miles when the heal wore down on the cam follower.

Hi Cymro:
I assume it has points. Are we talking about the same part - the contacts inside the distributor (never too sure - King's English and all). Animal

The mini van will have contact points unless previous owner has replaced them. I think he is referring to your monster truck!:D
