Minutes of Meeting of Mini Addicts
Held on Wednesday, 3rd January 2007

Present: Dean Jones (Chairman), Tony Haslam (Treasurer) Ian Lonsdale and Sian Jones (Events Team).

29 attended. Apologies from Eric who couldn’t make it.

Dean opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and wishing everyone a Happy New Year and hoping they had a good Christmas and thanked the members for all their input on the website and to the club in general.

Events
With the amount of events taking place this year, it was agreed that we do a few events and do them well as opposed to trying to get to every single one. Events which were a success last year and we would like to repeat this year are as follows:
MITP
Lord Mayors Parade
Northop Classic Car Show
Other local shows: Caerwys Classic Car Show (camping weekend), shows at Cholmondeley Castle and Greenfield Valley.

Wirral to Llandudno - 14/1/07
There will be about 200 minis on this run from all over the country. They have advised that this year more care is to be taken while on the run as there was a couple of accidents last year. The police will be watching this event very closely. We will be meeting at Matalan Car Park in Bromborough at 8.30am and leaving at 9am prompt to keep us all together while we line up to leave. Dean handed out information sheets on this event.

Bingley Hall - 28/1/07
We have three minis lined up for this event to go on the stand. The British Mini Club who are organising this event can’t tell us whether we have a stand or not yet. As soon as we have more information we will put the details on the web page. We shall be visiting this event anyway. There is a large BMW section at this show sponsored by Modern Mini Magazine.

Broughton and Bretton Motor Club Annual Awards Event 19/1/07
£5 per ticket for a disco and hot buffet. Anybody who requires tickets should let Mark or Dean know 01352 840 170.

Miniaddicts Run and Curry Event - Feb 2007
Date to be announced at the February meeting. Will probably be on the Sunday after the meeting. Any suggestions as to where we can go will be gratefully received.

Zaps
A new supply of zaps had been made and handed to all members to use as every mini zapped is a potentially new member.

Mini Magazine Feature
Dean sent the information through to Mini Magazine in November. We had a feature in January’s issue of nearly a full page spread. This we feel is a good start to the New Year. Copies were available at the meeting. Anyone who didn’t get a copy should contact Dean or Tony. As a result of this Miniworld Magazine have now been in touch and are interested in doing the same.

Public Liability Insurance
Dean suggested that we may need to get some basic insurance cover for the club. Just for the events that we do. There have been some letters about this in various magazines so we are going to look into it.

Fundraising Ideas
Last year the club raised over £1000 for charity. It was discussed and agreed that we should raise money for 1 local charity. Ideas and suggestions were sought from the membership. Hope Hospice and Save the Family were mentioned. This would be further discussed at future meetings and researched in the meantime as how to go about this.

Merchandise
There are still a few Calendars, Fleeces, T-shirts and Stickers for sale as normal. If we do not have your size please contact Kaye who will be happy to order them for you. We are hoping to have some miniaddicts pens, mugs, bobble hats and caps available very soon.

Banned Member
Dean announced that we have reluctantly banned a member from our miniaddicts forum for threatening behaviour. This is not something we wish to repeat in the future and would only happen for very serious misconduct. Copies of the forum rules were handed out so everyone is aware of them.

Website Update
Eric our web designer is going to be updating our main page very soon.

Membership Fees
The membership fees for 2007 are to remain the same: £25 for single membership and £35 for a family membership.

Website
The most ever people online so far was achieved on 31/12/06 a whopping 32 people sneaking a peek at our forum before going to celebrate the New Year. Well done Miniaddicts.

Dean thanked everyone for coming
Look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting Wednesday 7th February 2007
